Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist local NECs with technical knowledge and assists in the performance of network administration services for all network hardware and software
- Install, operate, and maintain routers, switches, and cabling
- Configure switches and routers in accordance with DISA STIGs
- Manage switch and router settings and configurations
- Configure and maintain trunks and VLANs
- Provide firewall and proxy administration, including creating and deleting rules
- Manage access control system settings
- Create, delete, and manage VPN configurations
- Install, maintain, move, and remove hardware and cabling
- Upgrade software and provide documentation for switch and router procedures
- Diagnose and resolve any equipment or connection related issues
- Respond to user network requests and events
- Monitor network performance and security
- Provide technical specifications for recommended hardware purchases/upgrades
- Develop and maintain system and technical documentation including guides, FAQs, SOPs, and reports
- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in a computer-science related field is required for this position
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with each of the following technology skills:
- Cisco routers, switches, and network management software (IOS, Cisco Works)
- Content filtering solutions (e.g., Bluecoat Proxy Server, Squid)
- Firewalls including Checkpoint, IPFilter, and Sidewinder
- Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems including Snort and Argus
- Network management solutions including Open View and Network Node Manager
- Network utilities including nmap, tcpdump, sniffers, ipconfig, and wireshark
- Shell scripting
- Experience with managing networks at different security classification
- Experience with DoD security tools and procedures (STIG, ACAS, eMASS)
- Remedy ticketing system
- Active Secret Clearance is required
- An Interim Secret Clearance at employment start date may substitute for Active Secret Clearance
- A current DoD 8570 IAT-II Certification (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.) is required.
